Christian Dior- Spring Summer Women Collection 2013 in Paris
First ready-to-wear collection by raf simons for christian dior. for the occasion, a huge tent was erected in the garden of les invalides in paris. the designer wanted to give a new meaning to the parisian classicism while bringing modernity and freshness. the models sport glamorous makeup highlighting the eyelids. several black tuxedos open the show followed by suited bustier dresses. neon colours make an appearance on metallic mini `bubble\' dresses worn over black shorts. the same for long tunics draped over to one side. tailoring is present in a new version and at the same time becomes a dress/jacket/coat. raf simons demonstrates its rigor and precision and clashes in delivering a collection that it both chic and futuristic. the house of dior with its new artistic director definitely takes a new direction.
